Across Canada, 50 schools/classrooms signed up for World Kids Colouring Day 2009 - from the Northwest Territories to British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.
We had a diverse cross range of participants including day cares, support groups, elementary and high schools.
Some highlights to colour for a good cause were ...
... the Mayor of Chilliwack BC colouring with Chilliwack Secondary School, Gilda’s Club - a support group for children with cancer in Toronto colouring for our cause, and ...
... Arthur Stevenson Elementary School, in Kamloops BC who had an auction of hand painted “welcome” signs on old barn boards from the teacher’s ranch.
Our winning school for top prize in fundraising was St. Gerrard Catholic School in Mississauga, Ontario.
We presented the cheque to the school principal in front of an assembly of 350 cheering students, with special guest Nori.
When you look at the pictures of the young artists, you can clearly see how much fun the children had expressing their creativity while at the same time helping other children in need.
